Counselor-In-Training (CIT) program
for students ages 13-15 seeking to gain leadership training and experience
CIT participants will work closely with a leadership instructor who will guide and facilitate the trainee’s experience through problem solving activities and role playing. During this training, counselor-trainees contribute to daily meetings and discussions about challenges and successes working with students and a teacher throughout their CIT experience. Participants will also learn important leadership techniques and skills relating to communication, goal setting, teamwork, and problem solving. In addition to leadership training, as part of our full-day camp, CITs will experience the various educational and recreational opportunities through field trips, depending on their assigned workshop and instructor. At the end of each week, CITs receive an evaluation from the Summer Program staff about the trainee’s noticeable strengths and areas of improvement throughout the week.
